World Women's Day

How we take social responsibility for women together with the Fair Wear Foundation.

Näherin in der Produktion

International Women's Day originated as a protest by the textile industry. Over 100 years later, women in factories are still treated inhumanely.

In 1908, thousands of women demonstrated in New York City against the unacceptable conditions.

Women still face these challenges 100 years later. Global fashion chains continue to produce under poor conditions.

ARMEDANGELS ASSUMES SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The 3,000 women, 65% of the workforce, who work for our direct suppliers receive the same salary as men in the same position in the supply chain.

Together with the Fair Wear Foundation, we are convinced that the role of women must be strengthened and discrimination must be stopped in order to strive for acceptable working conditions.

NEXT STEPS

Our due diligence guidelines will incorporate a gender lens and consider, among other things, the following equality issues:

  • Discrimination
  • Paid work and care
  • Representation of female employees
  • Competence development & fair career opportunities

Anyone who wants to help women in the textile industry should consume less and differently. We've been fighting for better conditions for 15 years—join us.
