Here's the Deal on Carbon

ARMEDANGELS takes responsibility and reduces its own CO₂ footprint with concrete measures.

HOW WE REDUCE OUR CO2 FOOTPRINT

Back to what we do: FASHION in a global economy. Our mission is clear. We can do something. So we will do it with the following four main pillars.

Measure

We collected real data on our electricity, heat, and water consumption, business commutes, business trips, and company cars. The emissions from our showrooms were also taken into account.

Result: Between May 2021 and April 2022, we emitted 238.22 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.

Reduce

The good news: We already use renewable energy in our headquarters and for our online shop:

We minimize our emissions and use renewable energy at our headquarters and online.
We do not use air conditioning to reduce global warming.
We offer job tickets, mobile working and bicycle repair services.
We avoid air travel, but compensate for it when necessary and combine trips within the same region.

There are, of course, further reduction options. But we're already excited to see the impact next year!

OFFSET

Next step: offsetting all climate-damaging emissions. This means we invest in offset projects to save the same amount of CO2 emissions.

The reduction is achieved through projects that save CO2 emissions by providing more efficient technologies and supporting renewable energy or carbon sequestration approaches (e.g. through reforestation).

Action

We chose to collaborate with a biomass project in India. Biomass projects generate energy from renewable biomass such as coconut shells and sawdust without deforestation or the use of fossil fuels. This saves CO2 emissions and reduces greenhouse gases, as the biomass does not decompose and does not release methane.

The project supports local communities with crop waste and provides an additional source of income – a win-win situation!
